My name is Angel. Yes, that is my real name. I am married to my best friend, Shawn. For 15 years now.

We have kids…..lots of them. Eleven to be exact. And, two grandkids.

We homeschool the ones that are still at home. That would be 5 of them.

We are a house full of geeks. The computers over run our home. Hence, the country life decision.

Yes, I am blogging. This will be my “hobby” considering I am the least geekiest of the family!

I do enjoying baking….not cooking so much. I need a recipe! You can hardly mess up things that are baked!

We recently bought a modest brick home sitting on a modest 5 acres. Which we almost lost to a not so modest forest fire.

We have at the moment:

Four hens

and

one dog.

When the fire broke out we lost 9 chicks and 2 dogs. But, God saved our home. Our storage building is another story.

So anyhoo, that is us! Welcome to our world!

Country life to us depicts getting back to the basics of life.

Living simple.

Enjoying God’s beautiful creation.

Being a family.

Our dream is to make this little piece of God’s creation beautiful and productive. We are venturing into gardening, raising livestock and teaching our children about life in the country. We are homeschooling and keeping our children close to us, teaching them what we learn on this journey.

It is our prayer that God bless our efforts and that anyone who comes across this blog may learn a thing or two from our experience.
